Steve Beecham is a speaker and author specializing in helping companies and individuals grow their businesses by leveraging professional and social connections more effectively. Steve has authored three books that drive home the messages in his seminars and corporate presentations. Bass-Ackwards Business: The Power of Helping Without Hustling, is about building deeper relationships and painting better pictures for the people in your village so that when they think about your industry, they think of you first. His second book, What’s Your Buzz?, is about understanding what is being said about you and your business, and how to use it to your advantage. In his most recent book, The Tapes We Play in Our Head, Steve helps readers identify negative self-talk and turn it into messages that are positive and inspiring. Beecham started his career in the retail industry as the owner of an upscale clothing store in his hometown of Roswell, Georgia. Several years later, at the suggestion of a friend, Steve gave the mortgage business a try, and after realizing quick success, opened Home Town Mortgage in Alpharetta, Georgia. During his 25 years running his own mortgage company, Steve has interviewed hundreds of top sales people and identified what he feels are the common elements of success. Through trial and error, he developed his remarkable system of helping people but not hustling them for business, making him what many call “the mayor of his village.” Beecham says he has spent years working for his perfect scenario: “My phone rings and people ask to spend money with me.” An engaging and entertaining speaker and storyteller, Steve has spoken to sales and marketing professionals at companies across the country, including Edward Jones, Merrill Lynch, Travelers, Prudential Financial, John Hancock, Mass Mutual, Wells Fargo, Country Financial, Allstate, State Farm, Nationwide, Comcast, Seyfarth and Shaw, Global Healthcare, Cole Publishing, the University of Georgia and Kennesaw State University, sharing strategies and techniques for growing referral business. Beecham has served on the boards of The Ron Clark Academy, North Fulton Community Charities, the Alpharetta Public Safety Foundation, Alpharetta Rotary and Wellstar North Fulton Hospital. He is featured in How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age, the modern adaptation of the bestselling personal growth book of all time by Dale Carnegie.
