Amy Wasson

Board Member

Amy became a member of the Meals by Grace Board in 2023, but her involvement with the organization began earlier when she first was a member of the Board of Trustees at Midway United Methodist Church in 2013. Meals by Grace started leasing the kitchen at MUMC, and it was during this time that Amy and her family became affiliated with the ministry, serving, and becoming financial partners. Amy’s professional journey began while she was attending high school, where she worked in purchasing at Blake Medical Center through the Future Business Leaders of America program in Bradenton, Florida. It was at Christ United Methodist Church in 1986 where she met her husband, Wes, while Wes’s father served as the church’s pastor. They tied the knot in December 1988. In 1997, Amy earned her B.A in Business from the University of South Florida. Following her graduation, she worked in Procurement in the medical field until she relocated to Cumming, GA in 2001. After the move, Amy transitioned to being a stay-at-home mom and assumed the role of CEO of the Wasson Family household. In 2004, she welcomed her second child, Zoe, into the world. Throughout her years as a stay-at-home mom, Amy dedicated a significant amount of time to volunteering at MUMC. Along with serving on the Board of Trustees, she sang in the praise band, assisted with hosting Family Promise, and took charge of Church decorations. In 2015, Amy established her own decorating business, Amy’s Designs, which she continued until she re-entered the workforce full-time at Northside Hospital in August 2019. Amy and Wes Wasson are proud parents of two college-age children, Zack and Zoe, who are also involved in the MUMC community.
